Greg Galavotti
Greg Galavotti, a self-described “accidental troubadour,” is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, bass and drums. If one were to write a recipe for Greg’s sound it might read something like this: add one part Chet Baker, one part Michael Bublé, one part Paul McCartney, sprinkle in a little Stevie Wonder for good measure, let marinate, and cook slowly. Born in Syracuse, NY, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Galavotti always knew he wanted music to be his life’s work. Greg attended Miami-Dade College, then transferred to the highly esteemed University of Miami jazz vocal program. In the mid 2000’s, Greg was introduced to famed Boxtops guitarist Gary Talley, and moved to Nashville, where he truly learned the art of crafting a song. Greg was awarded the Broward County Cultural division’s foster fellowship grant for emerging artists. In 2011 Greg came to the Hamptons to “work for a summer”, and liked it so well that he decided to call it home. Currently Galavotti is working on a full length CD, Alltruisms, with pianist/arranger Martin Bejerano of the Roy Haynes fountain of youth band.
